The team at Net Balance are frequently invited to speak at conferences and events on various topics associated with sustainability issues. Our speakers are thought leaders and experienced business advisers and highly regarded in their field of expertise.

Dr Robyn Leeson 

Robyn heads the development and delivery of our accredited training in sustainability reporting. In recent times she has presented at events hosted by the Global Reporting Initiative and the Institute of Chartered Accountants.  She has presented invited papers to numerous conferences in Europe, North America, Africa and Australia where she has spoken alongside industry luminaries such as David Suzuki and John Elkington.

Terence Jeyaretnam 

Terence has presented at several national and international forums alongside speakers such as John Elkington, Founder of SustainAbility, Dr. John Hewson (former opposition leader), Prof. John Thwaites (former Deputy Premier of Victoria), and Paul Gilding (past head of Greenpeace International), to a collective audience of over 10,000 over the past two decades.

Neil Salisbury

Neil has presented at many different conferences on topics surrounding Climate Change and Energy. Recent examples include;  Tonkin’s Carbon Tax Forum 2012, Quick“10 step” implementation checklist – Developing and implementing a carbon strategy,  Australian Institute of Company Directors (AICD) 2012, and Sustainability and the Carbon Tax – Risk management issues for Directors.

Christophe Brulliard

Christophe has delivered talks at various Net Balance client events as well as external conferences including the Tonkin conference (on energy efficiency financial assessments), and at the ALCAS (LCA) conference, both held in Melbourne. He also routinely facilitated workshops and risk assessments on Climate Change Adaptation.

Guy Edgar

Guy presented a paper on ‘How historic data from landfill emissions can be used to design an effective air monitoring program’ and chaired a session at the 21st International Clean Air and Environment Conference 2013.

Guy has facilitated workshops for the National Recycling Initiative and for a number of national waste forums supporting the National Waste Policy. Guy has also provided internal training within EPA Victoria and Toyota on air quality.

Dr Trish McGee

Trish recently chaired the organic recycling session at the 2013 Metropolitan waste Management Group Conference and has presented at a number of WMAA and Environmental Conferences. Trish has also provided grant writing, project management and government liaison in the delivery of successful Australian Packaging Covenant projects for Yum, Colonial and Westfield, as well as participate in the  Jurisdictional groups.

Rohan Ash

Rohan presented a paper at the Ozwater10 Conference titled 'Reducing Amalgam Waste and Mercury Loads to Sewer from Victorian Dental Surgeries', Brisbane March 2010. He has also had experience in facilitating training programs including; South East Water Trade Waste Technical Appraisal Training of 25 trade waste management staff from across SEW, YVW, CWW and Melbourne Water, 2011.

Kate Robinson

Kate is an experienced speaker on topics including corporate volunteering,       corporate-community partnerships and investment and workplace giving. She has recently co-presented at the Volunteer West Invest. Ignite. Grow conference in 2013, speaking on the topic of measuring the impact of volunteering and volunteering from a corporate perspective. In 2012 Kate presented the LBG benchmarking results at the LBG report launch and also co-facilitated the members’ plenary event. Kate also has extensive experience in the facilitation of training, both face to face and via webinar.

Rebecca Cain

Rebecca has presented at many different conferences on topics around Social impact and measurement. Recent examples include the Green Cities 2013, on the use of Social Return on Investment (SROI) methodology to ensure a people-centred perspective to green buildings; Supply Nation 2013 Melbourne and Perth: ‘Turning Contacts in Contracts’ - measuring the impact of supplier diversity. Rebecca also co-delivers the Social Return on Investment training delivered by Net Balance in partnership with the New Economics Foundation (nef) and the University of New South Wales’ Centre for Social Impact (CSI). Rebecca is one of only three licensed SROI trainers in Australia.

Stephen Reardon

Stephen's speaking experience includes presenting on the topic of 'What is a genuine Green Product' at The CIPSA ECO-Buy National Sustainable Procurement Forum and panellist in the Paper Wars series of breakfast events to debate the environmental and social impacts of paper  in 2012. Stephen has also developed and ran a series of seminars in Sydney, Brisbane, Melbourne and Adelaide providing advice to suppliers of green products on how to avoid Green wash.

Alianne Rance

Alianne holds extensive experience speaking publicly on climate change related content and adaptation in various contexts across both the public and private sector including; property development, community service sector and local government. Her experience has been gained through her Federally funded position as a Climate Council Climate Fellow, the National Climate Change Adaptation Research Facility (NCCARF) 'Voice of Youth', national and international conferences, industry association forums, research and consulting work.

Dr. Kaushik Sridhar

Kaushik has lectured at universities Macquarie and Sydney on topics related to Corporate Sustainability. He has also presented at  the HR Conference in Bangkok on the evolution of non-financial reporting in global organisations that use a Triple Bottom Line Framework and APROS NZ on the relationship between the adoption of Triple Bottom Line and enhanced corporate reputation and legitimacy.

Nathan Rogers

Nathan has presented to the Western Sydney Manufacturing Alliance and Textile, Clothing and Footwear (TCF) Australia about the benefits of energy auditing within the manufacturing sector to improve energy efficiency and to build the case for clean energy grants. He also presented to the United Nations Association of Australia (Young Professionals) to advise them before the UN RIO 20+ summit held in 2012 about the current state of Australia’s energy sector.

Sara Redmond-Neal

Sara is frequently requested to speak on sustainable procurement global best practice and addressing social and environmental risks in the supply chain.  Most recently she presented at the Sustainability Professionals Conference, Oil & Gas Procurement Leaders Forum, and Australian Campuses Toward Sustainability (ACTS) Conference. Sara additionally delivers ECO-Buy’s in-depth training courses, Sustainable Procurement Fundamentals and Sustainability in Contracts & Tenders.

Taimur Siddiqi

Taimur is closely involved in convening at annual Round Square conferences in Bangladesh and was the keynote speaker at the 2010 and 2012 conferences on “Environmental Challenges” and “Technology for a Sustainable World”, respectively.

Tim Dornom

Tim is a member of the organisational committee for the 2013 Australian Life Cycle Assessment Society (LCAS) Conference. He has also presented case studies at Net Balance and Swinburne University’s carbon accounting training courses.

Jane Farago

Jane presented at the 2013 Communities in Control Conference on the topic of 'Tomorrow's Agenda: Measuring your impact; multiplying your impact'. She is a regular facilitator at Net Balance Foundation events, e.g. panel discussion on Integrated Reporting and has developed and delivered a series of successful forums on human rights for disability service providers. As President of the Cambridge Society she has MC’d and facilitated numerous events including panel discussions, and chaired committee meetings.

Recently Dhakshy's knowledge on climate change adaptation and disaster risk management has seen her present on ‘Integrating climate change adaptation and disaster risk reduction at the Pacific’ at the ACCARNSI Early Career Researchers’ National Forum (2013) and ‘Measuring progress using the Hyogo Framework for Action’ at the Pacific Regional Working Group on Mainstreaming Disaster Risk Reduction (2012) and the National Contingency Planning Workshop in Samoa (2012).
